Rela is planning to conduct one operation per week in each
region to round up illegal migrant workers , Tan Sri Aseh Che Bar, a Malaysian
home affairs ministry official, said recently.
<P>Last year Rela members nabbed
only 25,045 illegal migrant workers, he said.</P><P>Che Bar said most of the arrested
migrant workers were from Indonesia (17.038), followed by Myanmar (2.988), Bangladesh
(1.274), India (1.206) and Thailand (614). Others were from China, Pakistan, Vietnam
and Nepal.</P><P>He made the statement after representing Home Affairs Minister
Datuk Seri Mohd. Radzi bin Sheikh Ahmad at the presentation of 103 operational
cars to Rela and kicking off the operations against illegal migrant workers dubbed
"Operation Tegas Rela 2007" last Monday.</P><P>He added some 62,080
