SHAH ALAM: The Malaysian Foreign Workers Recruitment Agencies Association (Papa)
has appealed to the Government to review the RM2,500 cap on agency fee for each
foreign maid.
More than 100 trade unionist, 400 NGOs and concern group participated in the demonstration against water privatization outside the Parliament on Tuesday, 21 June 2005. after the one hour demonstration leaders from each organizations gather and handed over the protest memorandum to the Parliamentary Opposition Leader Lim Kit Siang whom came done to the strict to receive the memorandum.
Victimized worker Helen Mary’s conciliation hearing at the Industrial Relations Department in Ipoh was held on 20 July 05, two months after she was sacked by the Japanese electronics company, Kamaya Electric (M) Sdn Bhd. It was a foregone conclusion that the conciliation proceedings would fail to reinstate Helen whose demands were nothing less than reinstatement.
