ILO-MTUC STRATEGIC MEETING FOR IMPROVING BILATERAL COOPERATION
A fruitful meeting with the ILO delegates today at Wisma MTUC,lead by Bro Pong Sul Ahn,ILO Regional Specialist Bangkok, Anni Santhiago,Josh Hong,Dominique Fernandes, Jodelen Mitra and Catherine Laws from ILO Kuala Lumpur.
MTUC delegates represented by Bro Jey Kumar-Vice President, Bro J Solomon – Secretary General, Sis Karuna-General Council Member, Bro K Soma- Assistant Secretary Education and Bro Zul Thye-MTUC MRC Coordinator.
The objective of today’s meeting is to discuss the strategic planning aims :
1. To promote DWCP and assist MTUC in the process of DWCP development.
2. To facilitate a better transparency of ILO projects in Malaysia to MTUC and to provide MTUC the services based on the needs of MTUC in accordance to the principles and values of ILO constitution.
3. To ensure ILO projects bring benefit to all workers in Malaysia with proper engagement with MTUC based on the needs of the workers in Malaysia.
4. We thank Mr Pong-Sul to travel to Malaysia and have this engagement with a mission to reiterate that ILO will work with MTUC in consistent with the values and principles of ILO constitution.
