BUTTERWORTH: A 56-year-old factory worker was killed after he was caught in a rolling machine at a steel mill in Prai here.
Loo Chin Hong’s right leg was crushed after it got stuck in the machine.
He was pronounced dead after reaching the Seberang Jaya Hospital at about 1.25pm on Wednesday.
While working on the machine at the mill, the victim had earlier spotted the hook on a crane detached.
He then climbed onto a platform to reattach the hook.
Central Seberang Prai OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ros Azhan Nik Abdul Hamid said unfortunately, Loo slipped and his right leg was caught in the running machine underneath the platform.
“He cried for help and his colleagues quickly rushed over to turn off the machine,” he said.
