Malaysia is one of Asia's biggest employers of foreign labour. But recently, cases of deaths, abuse and forced labour have come to light. What is going on? Who is protecting these migrant workers?
It was learnt that the workers, some who had not been paid for about three
months, confronted the front office of the site off Jalan Sulaman, near Universiti
Malaysia Sabah (UMS), at about 10am, to vent their frustrations.

Shortly after, more than 20 policemen arrived at the scene, following a call
from the security guards, to ensure the matter did not boil over.

It was learnt that representatives from the management and labourers met to
discuss the matter, and a settlement was reached soon after, prompting the crowd
to disperse.
