an average of two months to two weeks.
<P>In a briefing to the MTUC exco on Monday, EPF CEO Datuk Azlan Zainol disclosed the fund’s intention to fast-track withdrawals to two days.</P>
<P>When contacted, EPF deputy chief executive officer
(organisational development and strategic planning) Rusma Ibrahim confirmed the
meeting and said the fund was trying to implement the two-day withdrawal in a
month’s time. </P><P>“We are in the process of finalising the migration
of the whole computer software system to a new one and hopefully we can introduce
the new system of withdrawal within a month, once the teething problems are dealt
with,” she said. </P><P>MTUC secretary-general G. Rajasekaran commended the
EPF for improving its delivery system. </P><P>“We are glad that he was open
and transparent in his talk with us. It is remarkable the EPF can shorten the
payment to two days for withdrawals and two weeks for housing loan approvals.
</P><P>“The EPF must be commended on its fast-track approvals and payments.
Datuk Azlan told us that the EPF was also trying to shorten the process for other
