He said if there was any such
action, the affected workers could refer the matter to the Labour Department,
which would give the necessary “advice” to employers.

there are cases of employers taking advantage of the present situation, labour
officers will deal with the cases,” he told a press conference after the
launch of Socso’s “Return to Work Programme” here yesterday. </P><P>Asked
if it was necessary to lodge a formal report with the Labour Department, he said:
</P><P>“Workers can call up the department. This is not a labour dispute
but an exceptional circumstance.” </P><P>Dr Fong said if a state of emergency
were declared in Johor, employers and factories would have to suspend employment-related
